Besserat de Bellefon Cuvée des Moines : When the team first tasted this in Champagne, we noted yellow plum, autumn apple and ginger biscuit. This is lower in acidity than say the Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru and is designed to be easier drinking, with a soft palate with lots of warm yellow fruits, rockmelon and nashi pear. Added to the fruit characters are some deeper notes of croissant and mushroom. The blend is 45% pinot meunier, 20% pinot noir and 35% chardonnay, with fruit sourced from Oeuilly, Boursault and Cumieres for the meunier. A great example of meunier driven fruit.
